The association called the strike accusing big traders of forcefully sending 25 containers to Khasa of Tibet by violating the queue.
They effected the strike by putting vehicles in the middle of the road at 10 Kilo of Tatopani VDC. Nepal Trans-Himalayan Trade Association has intervened to send 25 containers to Khasa by violating queue rule.
The Truck and Container Entrepreneurs’ Association’s chairman Sang Dorje Sherpa said the strike will continue until the 25 containers return empty.
The association has allowed passenger and tourist vans to leave for Khasa, however. Over 1,100 vans are affiliated with the association.
The customs point collects over Rs 10 million revenue daily.
