A meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties held at Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, this evening directed the taskforce to present in a flexible manner and take necessary decision keeping in mind the submission of a written proposal from agitating Madhesi Morcha for consensus on the disputed issues.
Leaders who are in the taskforce from agitating Morcha on Sunday presented a six-point proposal terming it a base for consensus. Drawing a conclusion that it was not possible at the moment to demarcate two provinces in the Tarai-Madhes, the meeting discussed on settling the dispute on boundaries through high-level political committee, Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said.
The meeting also dwelt on advancing the deliberations on the constitution amendment bill tabled at the Legislature-Parliament, Poudel added.
UCPN (Maoist) Vice-Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the Morcha presented in today's meeting with flexibility and entered into the stage of putting forth the base for consensus. "This is the first time the Morcha came up with base for consensus in writing. Earlier, it used to present demands only. The gesture has enabled the positive environment for consensus", he further said.
The three parties' meet is underway at Prime Minister's residence. The parliament is scheduled to meet at 13:00 pm on Tuesday. RSS
