Altogether 331 players from 41 districts will compete for 18 gold, 18 silver and 36 bronze medals in both men´s and women´s categories during the tournament. The organizers have divided the senior section into three age groups and the junior section into four age groups in both men´s and women´s categories.[break]
The organizers have included the Poomsae event for the first time in the tournament. In Poomsae, the players will vie for four gold medals -- three in individual events and one in group event.
Addressing the media, General Secretary of NTA Deep Raj Gurung said they have brought electronic chest guards for the tournament. He added that the scoring system under the new technology will be fair.
The total cost of the tournament is expected to be Rs 1.9 million, out of which Rs 1.3 million will be sponsored by the Korean embassy. NTA will bear the cost of the equipment required for the tournament.
A demonstration team from Korea has already arrived in Nepal for the tournament.
