KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Taekwando player Nisha Rawal faced defeat in the first round of the above 67 Kg weight category bout in the Rio Olympics currently underway in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
She was defeated by Chinese contender Xuin Jhing in the fight held at Karioka Arena-3 at 7.35 pm Nepal Standard Time. The 20-year-old Nisha faced a 2-0 defeat to the 22-year-old Xuin. Xuin also clinched the world championship title in this weight category, it is stated.
With Nisha's defeat, all the seven athletes representing Nepal in the Rio Olympics have returned empty-handed.
However, Nisha has become the second female Taekwando player to represent Nepal in the Olympics. RSS
