Third edition of International Taekwando Championship kicks off

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Third edition of International Taekwando began amidst a program at Taekwondo Academy in Satdobato.

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Third edition of International Taekwando began amidst a program at Taekwondo Academy in Satdobato. 


Organized by United Taekwondo Dojang, 865 players from fourteen countries including Nepal are contesting in the tournament.

According to program coordinator Kumar Ghising Lama, 650 Nepali players from all seven provinces and 215 players of 13 other countries will contest for 114 gold medals. 


The championship will witness the fierce Gyarogi and Poomsae contest among the players from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, Macau, China, Australia, Germany, the USA and Canda. 


Coordinator Lama informed that the Nepali players under the closed camp for upcoming the 13th South Asian Games will also participate as this is an international championship. "Cadet, Junior and Senior titles will be held as determined by World Taekwondo Federation, " informed Ghising.
