KATHMANDU, March 22: The immediate past president of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Ltd (KUKL) has resigned from the KUKL board of directors.
Basnet submitted his resignation to KUKL through a representative of Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Monday, multiple sources confirmed to Republica.
He was not present im KUKL's board meeting held on Monday.
A source told Republica that Basnet had recently informed the board members in an informal gathering that he was stepping down.
Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, the chairperson of NCC, however, said that he was not aware of Basnet's resignation.
Basnet had resigned from the post of KUKL Chairperson on Thursday.
The KUKL board had selected Joint Secretary Ghanashyam Bhattarai as the board chairperson on the same day.
Basnet had been representing NCC in the KUKL board of directors since its establishment.
He served as the chairman of the board for three years.
