BIRATNAGAR, March 5: Nepali Congress central committee member Sujata Koirala accused former king Gyanendra Shah and his son Paras of being involved in criminal activities and demanded the security provided to the former king be removed.

Speaking to media persons at the Biratnagar airport, Koirala said that she is not surprised to learn that the Babarmahal bomb blast suspects carried out the grisly act with the help of pro-monarchs. [break]

"The people who can pull gun on my son-in-law (Rubel Chaudhary) were behind the blast does not surprise me," she said.

Koirala also stressed the need to investigate the blast thoroughly and punish the guilty. "Whoever is behind the blast, whether a former king or some other persons, they should be brought to book, or else it will be an end of democracy," she added.

She urged her fellow leaders to speak against the pro-royalists involved in such criminal activities and be the people´s real leader.

She even demanded with the forest ministry to close the hotel Tiger Top, where Paras had threatened Rubel with life. "That is not a hotel, that´s a hub for criminals," Sujata said.
