‘Success is a step-by-step process’
Thirty-two-year-old Samjhana Koirala owns a ready-made clothes shop in Kathmandu. She has been in the clothes business for three years now. She looks after the store with her husband, who takes turns to bring the items from wholesale. Originally from Dhankuta, she came to Kathmandu when she was six months old. Samjhana is currently living in Jyatha, Jamal with her husband and two sons. Her husband opens the shop at around eight in the morning and stays there helping his wife till eight in the evening. Before opening the store, Samjhana tried her hand in various things. She used to work as a salesperson and sold seasonal products. She has also run shops that sold vegetables, shoes, bags and small household items. She believes that no one can achieve success all of a sudden and everyone needs to struggle. “I achieved success after a lot of hardships so I think success is a step-by-step process,” she said.
