They said maths and science teacher Sher Bahadur Oli repeatedly harassed them sexually in classroom.[break]
They alleged that teacher Oli touched private parts of girls under the pretext of checking their identity cards and would hug the girls after checking their homework. They said the teacher would sit on girls´ bench and even put girls on his lap.
“Due to such behavior of the teacher, we cannot concentrate in studies,” Kalpana Dangi, an eighth grader, said. The students had complained about the harassment to a lady teacher six months ago.
But she did nothing as she hesitated to complain against her colleague. Then the students took the matter to the school management committee.
The students have padlocked the school from February 2 to February 10, demanding stern action against Oli.
