KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Strong gusts of wind at the Tribhuvan International Airport has forced two international aircraft to make rounds in the air as they are unable to land in the current situation at the airport.

A Qatar Airways aircraft coming from Qatar and Malindo Air from Malaysia could not land at the TIA due to the strong wind blowing from the direction the aircraft came from.

According to the TIA, these two planes could not land and were told to go around due to the situation known as 'tailwind'.

Generally, aircraft can land when the air current is less than 10 knots. However, when the speed exceeds 15 knots, there is a risk of aircraft overshooting the runway. These aircraft are currently flying in loops in Nepal’s airspace. According to TIA sources, the planes will land after air pressure becomes normal.
