Strike paralyzes life in East Nepal

DHARAN, Feb 8: Normal life in eastern hill districts of the country was disrupted on Tuesday due to the indefinite strike called by Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC).



The council has announced an indefinite strike in nine districts east of the Arun River demanding that the voters´ registration process be stopped and its cadre, who were arrested on the charge of torching a microbus in Dhankuta, be released. [break]



Although transportation came to a complete halt, markets and education institutes remained open. Meanwhile, Ongda Tamang, owner of the microbus set ablaze by FLSC cadres, on Tuesday filed a case at the District Police Office demanding action against 11 FLSC cadres allegedly involved in torching the vehicle.
