KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Various stakeholders of Nepali cricket on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripali asking him to release budget for making the ground condition of Mulpani cricket ground playable.
Cricket stakeholders to submit the memorandum include current and former national cricketers, coaches, umpires, technical manpower and employees of Cricket Association of Nepal.
They have demanded release of budget of Rs 1.67 million.
The work of smoothing ground surface and fencing was conducted in 2006.
Similarly, the construction work of pavilion was concluded three years later.
However, the ground condition is still not playable, states the memorandum submitted to Sripali.
“Release of small amount from the Ministry would provide players with an alternate venue to TU ground.
More and more players will get opportunity to get engaged in the game. It will definitely contribute to the development of the game,” the memorandum submitted to Minister reads.
