KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The authorities at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) arrested a Sri Lankan woman in possession of illegal gold.


Kanthamatre Kavaskar, the Sri Lankan national, was arrested for smuggling gold in powdered form concealed in her undergarments.

The chief of TIA security, DIG Arjun Chand disclosed that the woman, arriving from Dubai, was arrested on Saturday night. The seized gold weighed 1 kilogram and 300 grams, according to him.
