In the league-stage matches organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Golden Peak edged past Unique Club 69-35.
The matches were held at the Covered Hall of the Dasharath Stadium.
Budha finishes last
KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepali athlete Bishwarupa Budha finished last in the girls´ 3,000m race during the Fourth Asian Junior Championship held in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Sunday. Budha completed the race in 11 minutes and 24.44 seconds.
Another Nepali athlete Tikaram Tharu was ousted in the semifinals of the boys´ 100m race after successfully crossing the heat stage in 11.69 seconds. Tharu also competed in 200m race but was out in the heat stage. Likewise, Manisha Adhikari lost the girls´ 400m race in the heat stage as her timing stood at 1 minute 07.36 seconds.
Around 500 athletes from 37 countries of Asia had participated in the event. The three Nepali athletes are scheduled to go to Malaysia to prepare for the Youth Olympic Games.
