SPORTS BRIEFS: TIA into Akhil Cup quarters

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: TIA College advanced into the quarterfinals from group ´F´ in the ongoing Akhil Cup Inter-college Football Tournament on Thursday being held in Chyasal ground, Lalitpur. [break]



In the competitive match, Ajay Hamal of Grand Academy scored an own goal in the 47th minute as TIA Registered a 1-0 win over Grand.



Similarly, Whitehouse edged past NIST 7-6 in the tie breaker after the regular time ended in a 1-1 draw. White House took the lead in the 37th minute through Birendra Thapa. Amrit Bhandari leveled the scoring in the 54th minute.





Campion School observes Sports Day



KATHMANDU, Dec 31: CG Manipal Campion School held its first Annual Sports Day at the Buddhi Bikash Mandal Ground, Lagankhel, on Thursday.



Over 400 students and parents participated in the program with the theme "healthy mind in a healthy body".



Chief Guest Keshab Prasad Dahal, district education officer of Lalitpur, stressed the importance of sports in the overall development of students.
