WMMC enter volleyball semis
KATHMANDU, May 18: Workers Martyrs Memorial Club (WMMC) entered the semifinals of the Laxminarayan Shrestha Memorial Cup National Open Women´s Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday.
WMMC defeated Angels´ Heart in straight sets of 25-14, 25-8, 25-23 at the court of hosts Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center and secured berth in the last four. Likewise, New Diamond eased past Bright Future 25-10, 25-11, 25-8 in another match of the day. [break]
Meanwhile, G For Sports Club, Nepal Police and Nepal Army won their respective matches during the National Open Men´s Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday. G For beat the hosts 25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15 while Police thrashed Freedom Group 25-10, 25-8, 25-6. Army upset WMMC 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.
Greenland in semis
KATHMANDU, May 18: Junior boys´ basketball team of Greenland thrashed Mount Glory 20-2 to enter the semifinals of the Second Angels´ Heart Sports Festival on Tuesday. Likewise, Valley Public, Golden Peak and Gyan Niketan also made it to the last four.
Valley Public disappointed the hosts Angels´ Heart 19-12 and Golden Peak defeated Ganesh Boarding School 29-15 while Gyan Niketan struggled past TIA 16-14.
In the senior boys´ volleyball matches, Kamana, SEB, Newton and Mansingh advanced into the semifinals. Likewise, the senior girls´ teams of Angels´ Heart, New Diamond, Bijeshwari and Newton secured berths in the semifinals.
In the teachers´ volleyball, Angels´ Heart, Greenfield, Greenland and Bijeshwari made it to the last four.
