SPORTS BRIEFS: Gurung leads Everest Hotel Cup

KATHMANDU: Prem Prabhat Gurung took the lead on the first day of the Everest Hotel Cup Golf Tournament at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday. Gurung accumulated 42 points to take the lead in the two-day tournament being played in Stableford format with ¾ handicap allowances. Neeraj SJB Rana finished the first day in the second place with 36 points. Altogether 21 golfers teed off on Friday while around 50 golfers will tee off on Saturday.



Open futsal today

KATHMANDU: Himani Fast Relief, an Ayurvedic fast relief ointment, is all set to organize Open Futsal Tournament on Saturday. The tournament will be held at the X-Cel Recreation Center in Baluwatar. Interested teams can register for the tournament on Saturday morning. The winner of the competition will get a cash prize of Rs 75,000 while the runner-up will get Rs 35,000.
