SPORTS BRIEFS: Corporate futsal from Sunday

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Magic Moments Corporate Futsal will begin from Sunday at the GAA Hall, Thamel. The Five-A-Side Futsal Tournament will feature a total of 12 teams. Along with the defending champion The Last Resort and the runner up Ncell, other participants of the event include GBL, Republica, Nepal Investment Bank Limited, Nabil, Janta Bank, Bipasana International, Civil Bank, Nepal Airlines, Malpi International School and Butwal Power Company.



The winning side will be awarded a night stay package at Club Himalayan while the runner up team will get a night stay at The Last Resort. [break]Similarly, the best player of the tournament will get a round trip package to Thailand.



Quest off to winning start


KATHMANDU: Quest College started the First University Futsal Championship on a winning note on Friday. In the inaugural match, Quest edged past Rato Bangla 5-2. Premier B, Whitehouse, KCM, Crimson and ICHM emerged victorious. Premier edged past Kathford International 4-3 in penalty shootout following 2-2 draw in the regulation 30 minute time.



White House thumped Uniglobe 5-0, KCM edged past GoldenGate B 1-0, Crimson thrashed Presidential 5-1 and ICHM saw off Hilbert 2-1.
