Samakhusi, Shankhamul close to final

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Samakhusi Futsal and Shankhamul Futsal have inched close to the final of the ongoing Red Bull National Futsal League registering wins in the first leg of the semifinal matches on Tuesday. Samakhusi overcame Kick Off Futsal 4-2 while Sankhamul registered comprehensive 9-1 win over Tahachal Futsal during matches played in the capital.

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Samakhusi Futsal and Shankhamul Futsal have inched close to the final of the ongoing Red Bull National Futsal League registering wins in the first leg of the semifinal matches on Tuesday. Samakhusi overcame Kick Off Futsal 4-2 while Sankhamul registered comprehensive 9-1 win over Tahachal Futsal during matches played in the capital. 



In the last four clash held at Kick Off's turf, Nabin Lama and Shyam Nepali netted two goals each for the winning side Samakhusi while Krishna Malla and Raju Poudel notched one goal each for the home team. Samakhusi's Nabin Lama was declared the man-of-the-match. The second leg match between these teams will be held on Thursday at Samakhusi's home turf. 



In the second semifinal, home team Shankhamul eased past Tahachal 9-1 with the help of Sanjog Chamling Rai's hat-trick. Abhaya Rana scored a brace for Sankhamul while Dinesh Rajbanshi and Nirmal Gurung notched one goal each. Other two goals were gifted by Tahachal after the losing side's Sujit Budhathoki and Anil Tamang put the ball in their own post. Own goal scorer Sujit scored his personal second goal in the match. This time, he put the ball in opponent's post. However, that became just a consolation goal. The second leg between these semifinalists will be held at Tahachal's home turf on Friday.

Shankhamul, Samakhusi to vie for title


The tournament that kicked off on September 26 has seen participation of 16 futsal teams from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The participating teams were divided into the two groups and the top four teams from each group are appearing in the semifinals. The winner and runner-up of the competition organized by M&A Events will be awarded with Rs 1 million and Rs 500,000 respectively.



Similarly, the best goalkeeper and best player will be rewarded with Rs 50,000 each.
