KATHMANDU, April 5: A meeting of the Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants held at its Secretariat in New Baneshwar Friday ended inconclusively.

“We have decided to sit again on April 12 after we could not settle the issues being discussed,” said NC leader Dr Minendra Rijal, who is a member of the Special Committee. [break]

The meeting was held to discuss the misappropriation and embezzlement of funds allocated for cantonment management and for paying compensation to the former Maoist combatants who now want to quit Nepal Army training and return home.

Of the total Maoist combatants undergoing Nepal Army (NA) training, around 50 combatants have expressed their desire to quit NA training and go home.
