An unidentified group had hurled a brick at Dhakal´s vehicle at Putalisadak Wednesday. The vehicles glasses were smashed but Dhakal escaped unharmed.

Meanwhile, the leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Paudel, also condemned the attack.

Issuing a statement, Paudel said, "Dhakal was attacked after he raised the issue of the misuse of government fund released for paying allowances to Maoist combatants.

"If the government does not take the attack seriously and initiate investigation then the government itself will come under suspicion. So I would like to draw the attention of the prime minister toward the incident," Paudel said.
