South African envoy calls on PM

KATHMANDU, june 22: The newly-appointed South African Ambassador to Nepal Geoffrey Doidge paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal on Wednesday.



The envoy is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. [break]



According to the prime minister´s foreign relations advisor Milan Tuladhar, the envoy, who also served as minister and parliamentarian in South Africa, assured the prime minister that he would take Nepal- South Africa relations to a new height during his tenure.



Stating that there are bright prospects for Nepal once the peace process is completed, the envoy suggested to the prime minister for putting in place necessary legal framework to attract foreign direct investment from South Africa.
