Asked how it feels like to be a taxi driver, Indra Lama says, “Well I get to travel a lot with different people and different behaviors. It is sometimes interesting and tiring at other times.” The 36-year-old from Jawlakhel, Lalitpur worked as a driver for private vehicles for 12 years before turning into a taxi driver a month ago. He rents the taxi that he drives and shares his profit with the vehicle owner. He lives with his wife, two sons, and a daughter. He says, “I am a skilled driver and my dream is to own a taxi someday. I believe having my own taxi will help me earn enough for my children’s education.”
