In the past, the recipients of social security allowances had to go to the ward office to receive the allowances. The elders, helpless and dissabled people have to walk all day to get the social security allowances.
The service recipients have expressed their happiness after the municipality made arrangements to provide allowances at their doorsteps. “ I have Asthma, so it was very difficult for me to go to the ward office to get the allowance. I had struggled to reach the ward office,” one of the service recipients Chita Jaishi said, “But now it has simply come to our homes. We were very happy.” She said that it would be great if the elders and dissabled were treated at their homes.
According to Vaikuntha Raj Giri, chairperson of Ward 1, Parvati Singh (Sanjyal) along with the employees of the rural municipality and bank reached the houses of the beneficiaries in Ward 1 Raku and Ward 2 Sarijila and distributed the allowance. He said the rural municipality has made a plan to provide the allowances at the doorsteps of the service-recipients of all wards. “We have already distributed the allowance in wards 7, 8, and 9.”
