“We have always introduced new concepts at the mall and this year we introduced artificial snowfall in Christmas and the snowfall will take place again on December 31 from 2 pm onwards to welcome the New Year 2012,” said Sandeep Hirachan, managing director of UWTC. [break]
Hirachan added people these days visit the mall more for fun and entertainment than merely for shopping. It´s in this light that innovative entertainment like artificial snowfall is becoming part of mall culture.
To organize the artificial snowfall, the shopping complex has imported snow machine which weighs 25 kg from China. “In order to make a snowfall for 15 minutes, the machine should be filled with 4.5 liters of snow fluid which can make snow fall for a distance up to 15 km. The artificial snow is non-toxic and biodegradable so it does not cause any harm to skin and to environment,” informed Hirachan.
UWTC is also organizing free mehendi, free tattoo and face painting, free-style dance competition, and free dance party. “We will provide prizes for the best dancers and we will provide 200 gift vouchers to the visitors, which are sponsored by the shops at the mall,” said Hirachan.
Samina Neupana, proprietor of Self Fashion Wear, said her store is offering a 30 percent discount on new arrivals and 40 to 50 percent discounts on other items. “We have received overwhelming response from customers after the mall has announced the discount,” said Neupane.
The shopping complex will come up with different attractive programs to attract customer loyalty at a time when footfall at shopping malls is declining. “We have expected 16,000 footfalls tomorrow at our program,” said Hirachan.
The four-lane bowling alley will also be formally opened from tomorrow at the third-floor of the mall and the food court at the same floor will be opening soon. The shopping complex has also for the first time introduced an automatic parking management system for bikes and is introducing the same system for cars in a month.
