Two semifinalists will be awarded Rs 15,000 each. Similarly, the highest breaker will be given Rs 15,000 while all players securing pre-quarterfinal place will get Rs 3,000 each as motivational reward.
This is the highest cash prize in the history of Nepali snooker. Earlier, the biggest cash prize in domestic snooker was Rs 50,000. The organizers have expected participation of 128 players. According to Rai, the tournament has been organized with the aim of producing professional snooker players.
Bhagwati Housing Private Limited is the chief sponsor while Nutan Collection Boutique, Crystal Party Palace and Mahalaxmi Party Venue are the co-sponsors. The expected cost of the event is Rs 600,000.
