PARASI, Aug 14: Number of snakebite patients has increased at West Nawalparasi with increasing heat and rains of late. The number of snakebite patients visiting different hospitals in the district has increased day by day for lack of safety measures among the people.
According to Prithvi Chandra Hospital, Parasi, and Chisapani Hospital, Bardaghat, around three to four snakebite patients visit each hospital every day. The hospitals are compelled to refer snakebite patients to other hospitals after preliminary treatment for lack of ventilator service.
Doctor at Lumbini State Hospital, Butwal, Mohammad Narul Hoda, said the treatment of the snakebite patients was possible if they visited the hospitals on time. He also urged the public to adopt preventive measures, especially from May to October.
