Six tremors felt this morning

KATHMANDU, May 16: Six aftershocks of more than four on the Richter scale have been felt this morning, the National Seismological Centre said.

According to the Centre, an earthquake of 4 on the Richter scale occurred at 6:31 am with its epicenter in border area of Dhading and Gorkha districts.

Likewise, a tremor of 4 on the Richter scale was realized at 6:11 am in Nuwakot and 4.1 on the Richter scale was felt at 4:38 am with the epicenter in Dolakha district while another aftershock with the equal magnitude occurred at 4:28 am in Dolakha.

Likewise, the Centre said that another temblor of 4 on the Richter scale jolted Gorkha at 2:15 am.  Another aftershock was recorded at 9:24 am measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake is Sidhupalchowk district.

The seismologists have urged the locals not to worry about the minor aftershocks and turn down the rumors spread on the quake in social media and different online media. RSS
