NAWALPARASI, Nov 28: Seven persons including six from a single family died in a jeep accident in Nawalparasi district Saturday night. Sixteen persons were injured.
The deceased have been identified as Sumanti Banche, Khem Banche, Deepak Phal Magar, Resham Bahadur Banche, Lok Bahadur Banche, Jaya Bahadur Banche and four-year-old Kisan Banche. All the deceased are from Chharchhare of Dandajheri village development committee ward no. 8 of Nawalparasi.
Six passengers died on the spot while the seventh died on the way to hospital. Among the 16 injured, the condition of three -- driver Prakash Nepali and passengers Buddhi Bahadur Sunari Magar and Khem Singh Ale Magar -- is critical.
The ill-fated jeep was heading toward Chharchhare from Balingtar of the district. The victims were returning home after settling a dispute involving the locals of Chharchhare and Bulingtar at Bulingtar police station. The accident had taken place at around 10 pm.

Yubaraj Basyal, chairman of Lekbesi Transportation Committee, informed that the injured are undergoing treatment at Purano Medical College in the district. Others injured including Bhim Bahadur Sunari, Deu Bahadur Phal, Sher Bahadur Phal, Nun Prasad Banche, Sandip Banche, Thaman Singh Banche, Chanmaya Banche, Laxman Banche, Sarga Bahadur Banche, Gopal Sunari, Yam Kumari Phal, Bom Bahadur Sunari, Durga Bahadur Phal are undergoing treatment at Narayani Community Hospital.
The accident site, which is some 60 km to the east of Nawalparasi, lies in hilly area. Rescuers are facing difficulties in rescue operations in the absence of required human resources and skilled manpower.
