MALEKHU, May 13: As many as six persons were arrested in possession of weapons during a joint checking carried out by Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) here on the eve of the local level polls. 



During the checking at Satyadevci area of Khaiyabas Village Council on Friday night, police arrested Yul Tamang, 26 and Jaya Kumar Tamagn, 27, along with one pistol, three bullets and a khukuri (traditional Nepali sword), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dipendra Panjiyar Tharu said. Police also confiscated a motorbike (Ba 77 Pa 1962) and Rs 41,700 in cash. 



At Salyantar in Tripura Sundi Village Council – 1, police arrested four persons. They include Uttam Adhikari, 24, Prachit Adhikari, 24, Prakash Thapa Magar, 22, and Nabin Thapa, 30, of Tripura Sundari Village Council – 3. 



Meanwhile, the Joint Security Force, this morning, defused three bombs planted by CPN led by Biplov Group along the highway. The bombs were planted at Siddhalekh Village Council along the Kalupandey highway, Ghatbensi along Prithvi Highway and near the Mahadevbensi area. RSS
