Simran bags Miss Plus 2 title

Simran Tuladhar was announced the winner of ‘Miss Plus 2’ organized in Dharan on Monday.



The beauty pageant aimed at boosting young girls’ confidence and developing their personality. Simran paved her way to the Top 5 and excelled in the Q&A round by presenting the best answer to the question ‘What should be done to minimize the number of street children in our society?’ 



Despite being the permanent resident of Kathmandu, Tuladhar had been studying in Bishnu Memorial Higher Secondary School of Dharan since Grade VIII. She has completed her intermediate level and is preparing to take air-hostess preparation classes in Kathmandu. 



“I had not expected to win the title but the confidence to win was always there. I will join air-hostess training and will continue my studies as well,” she said. Simran received Rs 45,000, a trophy, four years of scholarship at Little Angel’s College of Management at Kathmandu for Bachelors in Information System faculty, a Lava mobile phone, gift hampers from Oppo and Baraha Jewellery as winning prizes. 



Similarly, Wilam Rai and Arati Basnet, intermediate students at Depot Higher Secondary School and Aims Academy, respectively, secured first runner-up and second runner-up positions. Wilam received a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a crown and four years of scholarship for bachelor’s level in Depot Higher Secondary School as the first runner-up, while Arati won a cash prize of Rs 15,000, a crown and four years of scholarship for bachelor’s level in Mega College. 



Besides the main titles, Januka Rai, Wilam Rai, Sisam Gurung, Mamata Rai, Aarati Basnet, Basanti Tamang and Munal Rai received Sagarmatha Miss Friendship, Dharan Engineering Miss Discipline, People Shop Miss Beautiful, Pradip Bishnu Best Dress, Sulav Cooperative Miss Photogenic, Sotang Organic Miss Talent, Aims Miss Personality, National Miss Best Walk and Budha Subba Dental Miss Smile titles, respectively.



The winners were awarded and felicitated by Chairperson of Big Event Nepal Pvt Ltd, Santosh Rai, national anthem writer and chief guest for the event, Byakul Maila, special guest Usha Khadgi, deputy mayor of Dharan Sub –metrpolitan Manju Bhandari Subedi, one of the judges and DIG Gyan Bikram Shah, Deputy Director of BP Hospital Dr Pappu Rijal, Chairperson of Easy Rider Business Pvt Ltd, Lok Khapung, director of Big Event, Dorpadhwaj Rai and educator Khemkala Rai. 



A total of 25 contestants had made it to the finale. Based on their performances, the panel of judges had selected Top 5 contestants, including Sushma Limbu and Manisha Limbu besides the title winners.
