Shuva Pratap Rana's 'kidnappers' nabbed

DHANGADHI, June 27: Police on Saturday arrested nine persons involved in the kidnapping of six-year-old Shuva Pratap Rana from his school in Tikapur on Thursday. Those arrested include the kidnapping mastermind and eight others who helped take the boy to Nepal-India border, a source said. Police said all the nine arrested have confessed the crime. [break]


Police haven´t disclosed the names of the arrested saying it would hamper their investigation. However, according to the source, the arrested include Gagan Singh and Gyanu Singh of Tikapur.



In his statement to the police, Gyanu Singh said that the two persons who took Shuva on their motorcycle on Thursday are Jawani Tiwari of Tikapur and Rakesh Hamal on Lalbojhi.



Police said they still don´t have information about the whereabouts of the abducted boy since 4-5 main kidnappers are still at large. Police inspector Prem Khadka said investigation is near complete.



Meanwhile, Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry called a general shutdown on Saturday to protest the kidnapping. Shops, businesses and transport services remained shut in Tikapur Municipality.
