Police open fire at Bhagawanpau to arrest alleged kidnappers

KATHMANDU, March 4: Police opened fire at Bhagawanpau near Swayambhu in Kathmandu in an attempt to free three individuals from a group of kidnappers.

KATHMANDU, March 4: Police opened fire at Bhagawanpau near Swayambhu in Kathmandu in an attempt to free three individuals from a group of kidnappers.


According to Metropolitan Crime Division Chief SSP Dinesh Amatya, a team from the division reached Bhagawanpau on Saturday afternoon to free three kidnapped individuals and police open fire as a kidnapper pointed a pistol and tried to open fire at the police team.

According to Amatya, the team was mobilized to free Mana Dorji Tamang, Bishal Tamang and Nangdung Tamang, who were taken into hostage from Bauddha Kathmandu two days ago.


Amatya said that police arrested Bir Bahadur Tamang from the crime scene. According to Amatya, Durnga Tamang, one among alleged kidnappers, sustained injury in the incident and he is rushed to Bir Hospital.
