Shrestha, Ghimire bag SEJON award

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) on Monday conferred Outstanding Economic Journalist Award 2011 to journalists Dambar Krishna Shrestha and Manoj Ghimire.



Shrestha, associated with Himal Khabarpatrika, won the award under the category of print media, while Ghimire, journalist of Kantipur Television, won the award under the category of electronic media.[break]



Finance minister Barsha Man Pun gave away the awards amid a recemony organized to mark SEJON Day. The award carries a purse of Rs 51,000 each.



Speaking on the occasion, Pun said although capital expenditure has reached to 12 percent it was not yet satisfactory. He, however, added that financial condition of the country had improved in recent months.









Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Dr Yuva Raj Khatiwada said enough liquidity in the banking system indicates people´s growing confidence on BFIs.
