KATHMANDU, Aug 9: A Shree Airlines plane scheduled to depart from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to Surkhet in the morning was returned from the runway, aborting the flight, and brought back to the parking area.

Binita Kathayat, an MP of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), said that the plane was scheduled for a flight to Surkhet at 7:30 AM this morning and also reached the runway but it was returned to the parking area.

MP Kathayat said “After the passengers had boarded, the plane reached the final point of take-off on the runway. Suddenly the plane was returned to the parking area and when the passengers asked why the plane was returned, the staff said that it was due to technical reasons. However, it was the airline's negligence to return the plane from the runway.”

Anil Manandhar, the manager of Shree Airlines, said that after a dispute arose between some of the passengers of the plane, the plane was returned and is now preparing for the flight to Surkhet. He said, "It is not due to technical problems, the pilot returned the plane following the dispute between the passengers. According to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), when there is a dispute between the passengers, another process must be carried out to take the passengers to their destination.”

Manager Manandhar said that passengers are currently boarding the same aircraft and are en route to their destination.
