KATHMANDU, June 23: A fire erupted in a house in Bhotebahal due to a short circuit on Tuesday evening. Fire fighters brought the fire under control after two hours at around 9.40 p.m. There are no casualties as fire fighters rescued everyone in the house.
The fire started when an electricity inverter that was left turned on exploded and caused a short circuit once the power supply resumed after load-shedding.
Two stories of the house were completely destroyed in the fire. A cooking gas cylinder depot in the ground floor of the house gave special cause for alarm.

Two fire engines from Kathmandu, and one each from Lalitpur, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police Headquarters worked to douse the fire, police said.
A large number of police personnel were deployed in the fire fighting operation. Police said details of property loss have yet to be ascertained.
Bhotebahal is one of the most densely populated areas in Kathmandu.
