"We will reopen our shops from Wednesday by calling off our all protest programs," said Madhu Pandey, president of RB Complex Byapar Sanga.

According to Pandey, they have agreed to form a committee to recommend solution to the existing problems of valuation and billing of goods that has been the bone of contention between the government and the business.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between the officials from the Ministry of Finance and the representatives from Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industry and representatives from other commodity associations.

"The business people have agreed to cooperate with the government in the government´s revenue investigation in the days to come," said an official from the ministry who was present during the meeting.

The government had taken initiatives for the meeting amidst the strong protest by the business community in a bid to find an amicable solution to the problem.
