KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Premier Organics Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Sharda Group and Rathi Group, has been set up with an initial investment in excess of Rs 1 billion based in Duhabi, Sunsari.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Premier Organics said its plant will manufacture 'grain-based extra neutral alcohol' (GENA), which will be used in making of various types of alcoholic beverages and spirits like vodka, whisky, rum, and gin, among others.
"It will also be sold to other alcohol manufacturers in Nepal and will dispel the import of GENA, thus also making Nepal self reliant," Premier Organics said in its statement. The plant will also generate jobs for over 500 people living around the factory catchment area, according to the statement.
