KATHMANDU, Feb 26 : A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a tractor in Baglung on Saturday afternoon.

Laxman BK, 13, a resident of the Kafalbot, Dhorpatan Municipality-6, died on the spot after being hit by a tractor with registration number Dha 1 Ta 511 at Chameddar, Dhorpatan Municipality 6.

The police have detained the tractor driver and are further investigating the case.

Similarly, one person was killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Dhanusha when two motorcycles collided at Kushmaha of Sabaila Municipality-9.

Ajay Yadav, 23, a resident of Amarkhana-10 died when the two motorcycles with registration number State 2 006 Pa 0652 and Ja 11 Pa 9237 collided with each other on Saturday afternoon.

The police said that Yadav was seriously injured in the accident and died while undergoing treatment at the Janakpur Provincial Hospital. Four others who were injured in the accident are being treated at the same hospital.

Meanwhile, one person died in a motorcycle accident in Makwanpur. 

Bikas Jaiswal, a 35-year-old resident of India, died in the accident on Saturday afternoon at Indra Sarovar Rural Municipality-2.

Jaiswal, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at Hetauda Hospital. Another person who was also on the motorcycle sustained injuries and is being treated at the same hospital.

Meanwhile, in Sindhupalchowk, a motorcyclist died in an accident after his motorcycle fell off the road.

Radhe Banjara, 47, a resident of Panch Pokhari in Thangpal Rural Municipality-6, died on the spot when his motorcycle (Ba Pra 02020 Pa 8894) fell six meters below the road at Gufadanda, Panch Pokhari-6.

In Rupandehi, a tractor and a motorcycle collided head-on killing one person.

Rajan Basnet, 33, a resident of Palpa Tansen Municipality-10 Telga, died when his motorcycle (Lu 79 Pa 9255) collided with the tractor with registration number Lu 4 Ta 935 at Manigram, Tilottama Municipality-5.

He was seriously injured in the accident and died while being treated at Crimson Hospital, Manigram. A pillion rider was injured in the accident and is being treated at the same hospital. The police have detained the tractor driver.

Similarly, on Saturday night, a bus with registration number Su P 07-02-001 B 1256 and a motorcycle (Lu 8 Pa 9068) collided with each other at New Bus Park Butwal Sub-Metropolis 9 in Rupandehi on Saturday killing 37-year-old Manoj Hitang.

He was seriously injured in the accident and died during treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal. The bus driver has been detained by the police.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed in Jhapa after being hit by a pickup truck.

Sun Bahadur Majhi, 73, a resident of Jhapa Rural Municipality-2, died on Saturday night after being hit by a pick-up truck with registration number State 1-01-001 Cha-9227 at Laxmipur Chowk of  Kankai Municipality-8.

He was seriously injured in the accident and died during treatment at B&C Hospital, Birtamod. The pickup driver has been detained by the police.

The police said that they are conducting further investigations in connection with all the accidents.
