The rest of the accused --Chhabilal Poudel and Meghanath Poudel of Fujel-6 in Gorkha district and Bhimsen Poudel of fujel-7 and Parashuram Poudel of Bharatpur -- are not related to Krishna Prasad´s family, said Nur Prasad, who says his brother was killed due to a dispute over the ancestral property in Gorkha district.
Property dispute suspected behind murder
Krishna´s family had a long-standing dispute over their ancestral property with Aunt Sita after his uncle Karna Prasad Adhikari died in 2001, said Nur Prasad.
Nur Prasad also informed that Sita along with her brother Bishnu frequently threatened to kill them.
“In fact they wanted to kill my uncle Thakur Adhikari, who was in the Nepal Army then. But they killed my brother,” said Nur Prasad.
However, their relatives have denied the allegation saying Nur Prasad accused all those who supported Sita and that they had nothing to do with the murder.
“Then Maoist rebels were involved in the murder. But they accused all the relatives who had supported Sita,” said Dorna Lamichhane, a cousin of Ram Prasad Adhikari, who has already been arrested.
“We have found that there was a property dispute in the family,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Pradhumna Karki.
