Self-proclaimed Goddess remanded into custody for a week

KATHMANDU, June 30: After her arrest for brutally beating a woman, self-proclaimed Goddess, ‘Dharti Maata’ is remanded into custody for further investigation.

KATHMANDU, June 30: After her arrest for brutally beating a woman, self-proclaimed Goddess, ‘Dharti Maata’ has been remanded into custody for further investigation.


She was accused of misbehaving and manhandling a woman on the Bhadrakali premises. According to Spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, DSP Hobindra Bogati, the woman was arrested on Friday morning from Balaju. She was identified as Bishnu Kunwar.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has ordered the police to keep her into custody for another seven days in accordance with existing laws.


While recording her statement at the District Police office, Kathmandu, the accused stated that her activities were influenced by some unseen forces resulting in such brutal act.
