KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The members of the PLA management secretariat are scheduled to visit Shaktikhor cantonment on Saturday to learn about the combatants´ views on integration and rehabilitation.

The meeting has been scheduled after the 12-member secretariat got full shape early this week with the naming of Tej Bahadur Oli as PLA representative to the secretariat. [break]

Though formed on September 17, the secretariat had not been able to full shape after the Maoists delayed naming a PLA representative. Oli is the commander at the PLA fourth division.

According to Dipak Prakash Bhatta, a secretariat member, the meeting aims to mentally prepare the Maoist combatants for integration and rehabilitation.

Though the rehabilitation package was announced long before, the Maoists have expressed dissatisfaction saying the package is too little.

As per the proposed package, each combatant, who wants to be rehabilitated, would be given Rs 375,000. But the Maoists have demanded that the government should provide a minimum of Rs 1.5 million to each combatants.
