War museum to be built in Shaktikhor

CHITWAN, Sept. 28: Plans are ongoing to establish a war museum at Shaktikhor in Kalika Municipality, Chitwan. The museum would be set up in the then third division of the Maoist combatants by collecting the arms and documents used during the decade long people’s war.

CHITWAN, Sept. 28: Plans are ongoing to establish a war museum at Shaktikhor in Kalika Municipality, Chitwan. The museum would be set up in the then third division of the Maoist combatants by collecting the arms and documents used during the decade long people’s war.

Mayor of Kalika Municipality Khumnarayan Shrestha said that homework has been initiated after the chairman of Communist Party of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ made an announcement to establish the war museum in Shaktikhor. According to Mayor Shrestha, the modalities and the proper site for the museum are under discussions. 


However, a province-level industrial estate is being developed in the area. Province Assembly Member Ghanshyam Dahal said that the museum would depict the history of the war along with the weapons and documents used during the period. He said that the museum could be a history of Nepalis and a tourist destination. RSS
