Second batch of TGG mentees graduate

KATHMANDU, March 29: Seventy five young people graduated from WWF Nepal's second batch of The Generation Green mentorship program whose closing event was held at Nepal Art Council in Baber Mahal on Monday, March 28.

The 75 graduates were mentored for six months, beginning on August 2015, by 12 well known personalities from different sectors. The mentors included social entrepreneur Anil Chitrakar, Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung, Mega Bank CEO Anil Keshary Shah, Dr Aruna Uprety, founder of Shakti Samuha Charimaya Tamang, and media personality Malvika Subba.Musician Amrit Gurung spoke about the power of youth who were particularly resourceful in the aftermath of the earthquake.

The program aims to encourage young people to be more invested in conservation and environment. During the six months of the program, mentors share their knowledge, wisdom and experience to guide the younger generation.

At the closing event, one member from each of the mentor's groups gave different kinds of presentations on topics such as 'Mind Your Waste,' 'Is dust manageable in the valley?', 'Terrace Farming,' 'Bottle Gardening,' and 'Hanging Garden Project.'
