While the event remained relatively low key, with only a selected number of attendees, the gathering saw some of Kathmandu´s prominent journalists, writers, development workers and close friends of the author. [break]
The launch was inaugurated with a melodious number entitled "Sadhain sadhain" performed by Abhaya and the Steam Injuns. Thereafter, Momila Joshi, a prominent poet and favorite of Manjushree Thapa dedicated, then recited her poem, "Pani pani bhaye". Both performance and recital were received by the audience with delight.
Published by Penguin Books, the launch of Seasons of Flight then saw a short speech given by Ravi Singh of the publishing house. He termed Manjushree as one of the most influential writers of the region.
Following this was the author´s short speech, with a vote of thanks to those that supported her and a general summary of how the book came to be.
The event was organized by Quixote´s Cove in Jhamsikhel and there were mouth watering delicacies and the traditional hard drink aila made available by Newa Café in Thamel for the guests to enjoy.
