Seasonal flu gains ground in Jumla after Jajarkot

JUMLA, April 23: With the number of swine flu patients growing in Jajarkot, the seasonal flu has also gained ground in Jumla.



As of Tuesday, over 300 patients have been diagnosed with seasonal flu.

During the health check-up program carried out between April 8 to April 10, as many as 203 patients were diagnosed with seasonal flu while during the period between April 15 to April 19, other 100 patients were found suffering from the flu.


The number might go even larger as the latest update is yet to arrive, informed Jumla Public Health Office.


In the VDCs including Depalgaun and Garjyangkot, 15 among 50 patients who underwent health check-up were diagnosed with seasonal flu, said senior Public Health Officer Baidhyanath Jha.


District Health Office has been launching public health awareness programs to curb the epidemic.
