JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 22: An 11-year-old girl, Arohi Kumari Mandal, died in Dhanusha after being hit by a school bus.


According to DSP Barun Bahadur Singh, spokesperson for the Dhanusha police, Arohi was a student at Ram Janaki Boarding School in Dhanauji Rural Municipality-2. She was hit by a bus belonging to Jana Jyoti Boarding School, numbered (Ba 3 Pa 9065), around 10 am on Tuesday. Arohi suffered severe injuries and later died during treatment at the provincial hospital in Janakpur.

Following the incident, locals removed the dead body from the scene and set the bus on fire in protest.


A bicycle was found at the scene, leading police to believe that the girl may have been hit from behind while riding to school.


According to police, further investigation is ongoing regarding the incident.
