The move aims at increasing the number of qualified, excellent and skilled human resources in civil service, according to the ministry.
Spokesperson for the ministry, Binod KC, said Rs 60 million has been released for the scholarship program for the current fiscal year.
Around 200 boys and girls will receive scholarships from this year, said MoGA Joint Secretary Kiran Raj Sharma.
"Once civil servants all across the country can provide higher education to their wards under the scholarship scheme, civil service will remain a center of attraction in the days to come," he said.
This year´s budget for the scholarships will be disbursed for medical and engineering studies, KC said, adding, "The ministry has received 495 applications."
KC also said that Rs 20 million has been released to establish two residential civil service schools in Dhankuta and Dipayal.
