KATHMANDU, May 26: Continuing its reform drive, the Supreme Court on Tuesday set up a tele-inquiry system that has been expected to cut people´s time and money they put to visit the court to know the status of their cases.

According to Hemanta Rawal, co-spokesperson of the Supreme Court, anyone from any part of the country can call at 016912903 to inquire about the status of their cases.

This is the third reform measure announced by the court to reform the judiciary. It has already set up a hotline to lodge complaints against court staffers and judges who dealy or are involved in irregularities. In a major step, the court has decided to set up a directorate to enforce court judgments.

The court said that it has also planned to set up 265 CCTVs in all the Valley-based courts to ensure transparency and check irregularities.
