SC refuses to register writ petition against prohibitory order in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, June 5: The Supreme Court (SC) has declined to register a writ petition filed against the prohibitory order issued by the Kathmandu District Administration Office.



The prohibitory order was enforced on Sunday targeting pro-monarchy demonstrations, restricting protests outside designated areas including Sifal ground in Chabahil, Koteshwor, and Balkhu.

Bhadra Prasad Nepal, also known as Swagat Nepal and a spokesperson for the pro-monarchy Joint People's Movement Committee, had attempted to file the petition. However, the court's administration rejected the registration.


Following the refusal, Nepal stated that he would file a new petition challenging the rejection.
